41st International WAHVM Congress

The 41st International WAHVM Congress will be held at Imperial College, London, United Kingdom in September 2014.

The two themes for the conference will be:

History of One Health

To include: the history of zoonotic diseases, comparative medicine, veterinary public health, antimicrobial resistance, the animal as experimental model, veterinary-medical relationships, examples of particular individuals and institutions that exemplify the One Health Approach, recent history of One Health.

War, Animals & the Veterinary Profession

To include: the use of animals in warfare, their acquisition, training, transport, breeding, and their management in health and disease. The wartime roles of vets in military settings, agriculture, and general protection of animal health and welfare.
The relationship between war and the development of veterinary knowledge and institutions.

World Veterinary Day

World Veterinary DayThe World Veterinary Association is happy to announce that the theme for the World Veterinary Day Award for 2013 is Vaccination.

The winner of the 2013 Award will be announced at the opening ceremony of OIE 81st  General Session to be held in Paris, France on 26 May 2013 and will be invited to the World Veterinary Congress 17 – 20 September in Prague, Czech Republic where he or she will receive the prize of 1000 US$.
